Healing from overwhelm wasn’t easy

My personal journey was filled with challenges and searching for answers outside myself.

Generational trauma shaped me into an overwhelm and stressed person who avoided, overreacted, and turned to substances. Living with chronic anxiety, migraines, and panic attacks since early childhood, I was trapped in a cycle of disconnection and emotional outburst, preventing me from truly discovering myself and understanding my needs.

I always desired motherhood (and working with mothers and children) but dreaded perpetuating generational burdens. I was convienced that I wasn’t good enough to be wanted, that I’d end up alone and that for whatever the situation- I was always at fault.

I used to be in unhealthy and even risky relationships. But I started healing by setting boundaries and learning about attachment theory. Figuring out my attachment style helped me get into a safe and loving relationship with my husband.

Honestly, I did a lot of mental work and was mad that I still struggled with anxiety, migraines, emotional outbursts and just feeling disconnected and out of my body most days… I didn’t know then that trauma is stored in the body. Makes sense why talk therapy only got so far.

I kept searching for tools, answers to help me feel confident, connected to my body and clear in my mind…

I tried so many things and nothing was helping. I was addicted to nicotine and drank regularly, I was in a high stress and high demanding job (Social Work trying to heal myself through helping others). In 2015, I broke my leg, quit my job and began learning more Somatic Healing modalities which led to the opening of my own business Love Today Therapy, where I offered massage therapy, energy work and coaching services to women and mothers.

In 2018, I experienced my second miscarriage.. This loss cut deep, I connected with my child in my dreamspace and thought that because I was doing so much innerwork and healing – that this child would stay. There was so much body blame, shame and guilt that came to surface. 

I started learning how to heal and release trauma from my body, become my own resource, develop my own inner authority and really trust who I am and love my body. 

but then

I became pregnant when the world went in panic

I closed my business, relocated farm animals, sold possessions, and moved to my mother’s home. Living with her showed me how generational trauma still affects me and my relationships. Everything I’d learned was tested daily. I felt scared, stressed, overwhelmed, and frustrated.

So I Took Back Control And…
